Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (or APSRTC) is the state-owned road transport corporation in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. Its headquarters are located at NTR Administrative Block of RTC House in Pandit Nehru bus station of Vijayawada. Many other Indian metro towns in Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Odisha, Yanam and Chhattisgarh are also linked with the services of APSRTC.

History
APSRTC was formed on 11 January 1958 as per Road Transport Corporations Act 1950. Earlier, it was a part of Nizam State Rail and Road Transport Department.

Administration
The organisation is divided into four zones with twelve Regional Managers. It has a total of 11,678 buses (government-owned 8964; hire on rental 2714) operating in 44.15 lakh kilometers and has a total of 426 bus stations and 126 bus depots.

APSRTC operates various services, such as:
Amaravathi / Garuda Plus
APSRTC operates multi-axle buses of Mercedes-Benz, Volvo and Scania make as Amaravathi and Garuda Plus buses. Designed for superior ride quality, these buses have reclining seats and calf rests. There are two/three led TV s in each bus with preloaded movies depending on the make. As in Vennela, passengers are given a 500ml water bottle, blanket and a packet of facial wipes. APSRTC operates Amaravthi and Garuda Plus buses on long distance interstate routes. Buses are operated in various routes like Vijayawada-Bengaluru, Nellore-Bengaluru, Vijayawada-Hyderabad, Tirupathi-Hyderabad, Nellore-Hyderabad, Kanigiri-Hyderabad, Chennai-Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam-Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam-Chennai, and Amalapuram-Hyderabad.
Vennela A/C Sleeper
Vennela is the most expensive and comfortable service operated by APSRTC. Vennela translates to the moon in Telugu. These are Isuzu buses fabricated by JCBL with sleeper berths arranged perpendicular to the body similar to a first-class train. Each berth has its own LED TV with pre-loaded movies. Value-added services include a 500ml water bottle, facial wipes, and blanket.
Garuda
APSRTC operates bi-axle buses of Volvo and Isuzu make as Garuda. Designed for superior ride quality, these buses have reclining seats.As in Vennela, passengers are given a 500ml water bottle and blanket.The famous routes of Garuda are Hyderabad-Nellore, Hyderabad-Kakinada, Hyderabad-Vijayawada, Hyderabad-Kanigiri, Hyderabad-Ongole, Visakhapatnam-Vijayawada, Tirupati-Chennai.
Indra
APSRTC operates AC buses built on Ashok Leyland, Tata and Eicher's chassis as Indra. These buses were introduced in October 2011. It is a mid-level service between Super Luxury and Premium Services. These buses are generally operated between major cities to the capital city and between district headquarters. These are also operated on high-frequency long-distance routes. Only water bottles are provided in these buses.
Super Luxury
These are non-air-conditioned 2+2 push back services which are run from major cities. These are video coaches in which various movies are played. Most of the buses are of Ashok Leyland, Tata, Eicher etc. They are white with orange and brown graphic (previously it was available in multiple colors).
Ultra Deluxe / Deluxe
These are non-air-conditioned 2+2 push back available in New Ultra Deluxe services which are run as intercity services. A Deluxe bus is white with multi-color graphics. Most of the buses are of Ashok Leyland, Tata, Eicher etc.
Express
These are non-air-conditioned 3+2 services which are run as intercity services. They have blue and yellow stripes on white. Most are of Ashok Leyland, Tata, Eicher etc.
Saptagiri Luxury
These are non-air-conditioned 2+2 services which are run around Tirupati.
Saptagiri Express
These are non-air-conditioned 3+2 services which are run around Tirupati.
Metro Express
These are non-air-conditioned 2+2 services which are run as intercity services.
Metro Express Low Floor Non A/C
These are non-air-conditioned 2+2 services which are run as intercity services.
Metro Luxury Low Floor A/C
These are air-conditioned 2+2 services which are run as intercity services.
Metro Luxury Semi Low Floor A/C
These are air-conditioned 2+2 services which are run as intercity services.
Metro Deluxe
These are non-air-conditioned 2+2 services which are run as intercity services.
Telugu Velugu
These are non-air-conditioned 3+2 services which are run as village services. They have green and yellow stripes on white. Most are of Ashok Leyland, Tata, Eicher etc.
City Ordinary
These are non-air-conditioned 2+2 services which are run as intercity services.
Mini Bus
Performance and earnings
As of February 2016, the organisation has a gross earnings of INR30.50 (44¢ US) per km., with a loss of INR-465,000.8 million (US$-6.8 billion).
Awards and achievements
- It entered the Guinness Book of World Records on 31 October 1999, with 22,000 buses making it the largest bus fleet in the world.
- Highest KMPL fuel efficiency for 2011-12 - Mofussil services and Vijayawada (urban division)
- Best Road Safety record for 2012-13
Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation has a number of firsts to its credit in India.
- First to nationalize passenger Road Transport Services in the country - 1932
- First to introduce long distance night express services
- First to introduce A/C Sleeper, Hi-tech, Metro Liner, Inter-City Services and Metro Express
- First to introduce depot computerisation - 1986
- First to appoint Safety Commissioner for improving the safety of passengers
- All 126 depots in the state are computerized
